InfoSmart & Brite iD Launch iGo at Cartes

November 2005

Technology partners, Brite iD and Burall InfoSmart have chosen the Cartes exhibition in Paris as the ideal launch pad for their innovative iGo travel product.

By merging photo ID with proven ISO14443 contactless chip technology, iGo aims to combine security and ease of use in one handy travel document.

Many mass transit systems require the passenger to carry a photo card as proof of entitlement, and a separate ticket or pass. iGo unites both in one seamless document, which functions in just the same way as a standard contactless smart card.”

Making it even more revolutionary is the technology behind, or rather, within it. Paul Bagnall, MD of Brite iD explains: “The iLam process is a totally new way of manufacturing high-security smart products, like the e-passport. It embeds the chip and antenna within a flexible elastomer core, which affords them much greater protection from damage or abuse.”

“Brite iD is showing its entire range of secure products at Cartes, including the e-passport and national ID card. “With its wealth of knowledge and experience in the mass transit sector, InfoSmart is the ideal company to take the iGo product to market,” says Bagnall.

“And there are a wealth of options, when it comes to features,” adds InfoSmart’s Sales & Marketing Director, Michael Moorey. “For instance, we can ghost-image the holder’s photo on the ticket half of the product. Or we can make it work in contactless mode, only when flipped open to view. The possibilities are enormous!”
