The University of Sunderland is now in it’s second year with
Burall InfoSmart and their unique mix of long term and short
term courses means they have a regular requirement for staff
and student cards rather than just the traditional start of
year ‘big-bang’. This means the digital print process is
ideally suited for their needs.
Christina Gales, Head of Business Applications for Student
and Learning Support at Sunderland University, says "For our
2009/2010 intake of students we reviewed our campus card
requirements and decided to move away from production of
cards on-site. This led us to engage with Burall after
seeing their presentation on Digital Printing of campus
cards and they now produce all of our student and staff
cards.
"I’m impressed with the ease with which Burall understood our business
and technical requirements and the speed with which they respond to our
needs. We have been using Burall since August 2009 and we are continuing
to receive a flexible and efficient service. I feel this move has
provided us with tangible benefits. We have dramatically reduced staff
resources required to sort and distribute the cards, eliminated the cost
of on-site consumables, enhanced the student experience and improved our
green credentials."
The student experience is a strong theme at Sunderland and they beat five
other shortlisted universities to the title of the most continued improvement
in the student experience in the Times Higher Education (THE) awards for 2010.
